Subject–verb agreement
ግሡ ከባለቤቱ ጋር መስማማት አለበት፦ she works, they work፤ there is one, there are two፤ everyone is። አብዛኞቹ ስሕተቶች ከ he/she/it -s እና ከአስቸጋሪ ባለቤቶች ይመጣሉ።
he, she, it + -s
-s (ወይም -es) ይጨምሩ፣ does, doesn't, has እና is ይጠቀሙ።

- አንድ -s ብቻ፦ ከ doesn't ወይም does ጋር ዋናው ግሥ -s የለውም፦ She doesn't work። Does he know?
- ስም ወይም ነጠላ ስም he/she/it ነው፦ My mother works። The bus leaves at six።
